Bildung:
(Hilfsverb) + Form von to be + Partizip Perfekt
Beispiele:
simple present: Volkswagen cars are made in Germany.
present progressive: My house is being built at the moment.
simple past: The hostage was captured last month.
past progressive: The victim was being questioned about the incident.
present perfect: The food has been served in the restaurant.
past perfect: He had been seen at the crime scene.
will-future: The box will be brought to the butchers.
Verwendung:
Das Passiv wird im Englischen dann bevorzugt verwendet, wenn es unwichtig ist wer /was eine Aktion ausführt. Es betont darüber hinaus die Person/Sache, mit der etwas passiert.
